First off you might be wondering why I'm writing an article about the top 13 richest porn stars and not the top 10. Well number 10 is a dude and I think Sasha Grey is pretty hot so I thought I'd start with her.

If you are at all interested in porn you can probably guess who's number 1 before reading on. They are worth $30 million. It's sounds like a lot to you and I but compare that with Hollywood actors and you find it chump change. Oprah is worth $2.7 billion. But down at $30 million and you're in the company of "stars" such as Gary Sinise, Gossip columnist Perez Hilton and Mr Sheffield from "The Nanny".

You'll find most rich porn stars have either other sources of income or run their own porn business.

Sasha (who's real name is Marina Ann Hantzis) debuted in 2006 with her first porn movie Fashionistas Safado: The Challenge. Sasha made nearly 40 movies in her first year starring in movies such as "Rich Little Bitch" and "Cum Fart Cocktails 5". Sasha went on to win many awards including the Adult Video Network (AVN) Female Performer of the Year in 2008.

By 2009 she'd crossed over into mainstream movies starring in Steven Soderbergh's "The Girlfriend Experience". Her many talents has helped her reach #13 on the list with a net worth of $2.5 million.

Evan Seinfeld is probably better known as former lead vocalist for the band Biohazard. Or perhaps for his acting in the HBO Prison drama OZ, where he starred in 33 episodes. He was also married to Tera Patrick and still has a share in her business.

These are most likely the main sources of his income.

With the average pay for a male actor in a porn movie a paltry $300 it's unlikely he accumulated much of his wealth from waving about his pork sword. But when he did perform he went under the name Spyder Jones and starred in around 40 films.

Jenna started her adult career at the age of 18 as a stripper. At 19 she made her first porn movie "The Oral Adventures of Craven Moorehead 8". That long unusual movie title, with a less than obvious pun, was probably not a huge success. However, she did go on to star in over 300 movies with titles such as "Backside Story" and "Cum Dumpsters".

She did a cameo in the Hollywood movie superbad as the Vagtastic Voyage Girl.

Jenna retired in February 2012 but still runs her own production company Jennaration X Studios, which likely provides a large proportion of her wealth.

Lexington Steele (who's real name is Clifford Todd Britt Jr) has a business degree and started off as a stockbroker on Wall St. He worked in the World Trade Center for 4 years before quitting his job and becoming a porn star in 1998. Probably the best career move ever given what happened at his former place of employment 3 years later.

According to IMDB Lexington Steele has performed in over 600 adult films. With titles such as "Black Meat Frenzy 3" and "Ebony Does Ivory".

He manages to command a fee of $800-$1000 per shoot, above the average for a male performer. However his accumulation of wealth is more likely to be attributed to him owning his own adult production company.

Katie Morgan (born Sarah Carradine) started off as a nice wholesome Christian girl. She was home-schooled for her entire school career. So it's not surprising that she rebelled. At 18 she married a guy she met from "Church Camp" 6 years earlier. Soon after getting married she got into swinging and three ways.

In 2000 she was arrested for importing 100 pounds of marijuana from Mexico to the USA. Faced with a hefty bail she turned to porn to come up with the cash, and never looked back. Her first sex scene was in "Dirty Debutantes 197" and then went on to appear in over 250 adult movies including "Double Decker Sandwich 9" and "Cunt Hunt".

He started in 1978 at the age of 25 and he is still making movies today at over 60 year old. Idolised by many men as he manages to score so many women, yet he is not only pretty fat but very hairy . In 2003 she was reported to be the highest paid Adult Video actress in Japan.

She returned to TV and movies and starred in mainstream Japanese movies such as "Ghost Shout" and "Tokyo Zombie".

You could barely rate her as a porn star since all the legal porn in Japan has the naughty bits pixelated.

If Traci Lords isn't the most famous porn star in the world she's certainly one of the most infamous. Born in 1968 in Stubenville, Ohio Traci Lords was born and given the name Nora Louise Kuzma. She dropped out of high school at 15 and in 1984 at just 16 she made her first porn movie. Pretty controversial since the legal age is 18.

She made 100 adult films before turning 18. When it was discovered that she was underage all hell broke loose. These movies were a part of the mainstream porn industry not underground dodgey stuff. She had even appeared in Penthouse. She only made one legal porn movie after her 18th birthday "Traci, I Love you" which she sold the rights to for $100,000.

So the majority of her earnings have been after she retired from porn. She's now a prolific actress in Hollywood, although most of her stuff is considered B-Grade. She's appeared in a number of TV series including "MacGyver", "Married with Children" and "Melrose Place". Her most notable appearance is in the movie "Blade" with Wesley Snipes.

Jesse Jane (born Cindy Taylor) grew up on various military bases. She didn't start her porn career until aged 23 with her first movie "No Limits". She quickly became very popular in the porn industry winning many awards and having a large number of porn titles bearing her name. One of her most popular titles is the high budget "Pirates" a sort of "Pirates of the Caribbean" parody for which she was nominated 4 AVN awards, winning one.

Jesse co-hosts a live internet-based chat show "DP Tonight". DP stands for Digital Playground the movie studio she is contracted to.

Tera Patrick (born Linda Ann Hopkins) was born in Montana but moved to New York City to pursue a modelling career. At 18 she went to University and earned a degree in Nursing and a B.S. in Microbiology.

It wasn't until age 23 that she turned to porn where she became instantly popular. Her titles include "Asian Street Hookers 6", "Break-In Bondage" and "Loose Screw".

Tera owns a Production company "Terravision" with her ex-Husband Evan Seinfeld. It's no doubt through this business that she has earned most of her wealth.

Jenna Jameson (born Jenna Marie Massoli) is easily the most recognised Porn Actress. Jenna has had a tough upbringing, with her mother dying when she was only 2. She began dancing in Las Vegas strip clubs at just 17 using a fake ID. She was earning $2,000 per night while still at High School.

She started making adult movies in 1993 at the age of 19 with her first film "Up and Cummers 10". Becoming an instant hit she went on to win more than 20 adult video awards.
